My Research and Teaching

My research and teaching explore how gender and queer sexuality inform notions of nation, diaspora, and transnational belonging in a contemporary context of globalization.  I am the author of Queering the Global Filipina Body: Contested Nationalisms in the Filipina/o Diaspora (University of Illinois Press, 2020) and the co-editor, with Dr. Karen Buenavista Hanna, of Beyond the X: Queer and Trans Filipinx Studies (under contract with the University of Washington Press).
